New container cranes for Belfast Harbour

Ugland Construction AS delivers marine services to TM S.r.l. for transport by barge of two STS cranes in Belfast, Northern Ireland

TM S.r.l. have appointed Ugland Construction AS to deliver the marine services for transportation of new Ship to Shore Gantry Cranes (STS) in Belfast. 

The large Liebherr Model P125L-WS-Super was rolled onto the Ugland barge, UR99, by multiwheel trailers (SMPTs) by Mammoet. Due to tidal challanges in the port of Belfast and weight of the crane, ballasting of the barge was an essential part to secure safe operation for on and off loading.

The first crane was successfully transported in Mid June, while the second is planned for September.
