Ugland Marine Project Services UK was responsible for loading and transport of subsea structures for tidal energy from Gdynia to Brest
The project was performed as a full scope service including engineering, fabrication and installation of grillage and seafastening, load out/ in, barge & tug towage from Gdynia, Poland to Brest, France, marine insurance and Project Management.
Our Client, OpenHydro, is a technology buissness that designs and manufactures marine turbines to generate renewable energy from tidal streams.
The electricity produced is completely renewable as it relies on tides that are created by the gravitational effect of the sun and moon.
The structures were delivered to DCNS' yard in Brest for assembly before installation offshore Brest to produce electricity for EDF Energy.
The Project was delivered successfully on schedule, budget and quality.
